Messaging your property manager
The tenant portal has a built-in Messages thread so you and your property manager can talk in one place — rent questions, repair follow-ups, move-out coordination — instead of scattered texts and emails. Everything stays attached to your lease as a record both sides can see.
For tenants
Open Messages in the portal (it appears once you have an active lease).
- Type your message at the bottom and press Enter to send (Shift+Enter for a new line).
- Your property manager is notified right away and their replies appear in the same thread.
- The thread is per-lease and persists — you and your manager both see the full history.
Messaging is for conversation. To formally report something that needs a repair, use Maintenance requests instead — those become tracked work orders.
For property managers
Open the tenant’s lease (Leases → the lease) and switch to the Messages tab. You see the same thread the tenant sees.
- Send a message and the tenant gets an in-app notification (and, if enabled, a push).
- When a tenant messages you, it shows up in your notifications with a link straight to the lease thread.
- Opening the thread marks the other side’s messages as read.
Because the thread lives on the lease, it stays with the record — useful later for context on a renewal, a dispute, or a move-out.
What’s next
- Submitting a maintenance request — for repairs that need tracking.
- Paying rent — pay or set up autopay from the portal.
