Setting up your organization
When you first log into Habitia, take 10 minutes to fill in your organization profile. Three of these fields are visible to tenants and prospects; one of them (the public description) is what Stripe checks when you connect a bank account later.
Open Settings → Organization Info.
The day-one checklist
Fill these in order. None of them are required to use the app, but each one unblocks something later.
1. Logo
Upload a PNG, JPG, or SVG (max 5 MB). Appears in:
- The app sidebar.
- Receipts you send tenants.
- Your public business page at
home.thehabitia.app/m/<your-slug>. - Documents Habitia generates.
2. Name, email, phone
- Organization Name — the legal or trade name. Shown on receipts and your public page.
- Email — your business contact email (where tenants reply).
- Phone — appears on the public page.
3. Address
Street, city, state, ZIP, country. Used for tax reports and as the default address on generated documents.
4. Public business description
This is the one most landlords skip — don’t. The text you write here:
- Shows on your public landing page.
- Is what Stripe reviews when verifying your business during the bank-connection flow.
Keep it short and human. One or two sentences. Example:
Family-owned property management serving the south coast since 2018. Long-term rentals, responsive maintenance, fair pricing.
5. (Optional) Tax ID / EIN
Used on reports and rent receipts. Internal — never visible to tenants.
What you can skip for now
- Notes — internal field, fill in only if you have a note for your team.
- Plan — read-only on this page. Change plans in the Subscription tab.
Save
Click Save Changes at the bottom (or top of the section). The button only appears when you’ve edited a field.
Then what?
Once your org profile is in:
- Inviting team members — give your team access with the right role.
- Bulk import — if you’re migrating an existing portfolio from a spreadsheet, this is the fast path.
- Adding a property — if you’re starting clean, add your first property one at a time.
Reference
The full reference for every field is in Organization profile (Settings section). This article is the day-one shortened version.
