Organization profile
Your Organization profile holds the basics about your business — what tenants and prospects see, what Stripe uses for verification, and what shows up on receipts and reports. Set it up once, update when things change.
Open Settings → Organization Info in the left sidebar.
Note: Only an organization admin can edit these fields. Other roles see them as read-only.
1. Upload your logo
The Organization Logo section is at the top.
- Click the logo placeholder (or the Upload Logo button).
- Pick a file. PNG, JPG, or SVG. Max 5 MB.
- The logo appears throughout the app: in the sidebar, on receipts, on your public business page, and on any documents Habitia generates.
To replace it, click the existing logo and pick a new file. To remove it, click Remove.
Tip: SVG looks crispest at every size. If you only have a PNG, use one that’s at least 512×512 px.
2. Fill in the organization details
The Organization Details section asks for:
- Organization Name — the legal or trade name of your business. Shown on receipts and your public page.
- Email — contact email for tenant questions and Habitia-generated notices.
- Phone — your business phone. Shown on the public business page.
- Website — your own website if you have one (separate from your Habitia public page).
- Tax ID / EIN — used on reports and rent receipts. Stays internal — never shown to tenants.
- Plan — read-only. Change plans in the Subscription tab.
3. Add your address
The Address section is your business mailing address — street, city, state, ZIP, country. Used for tax reports and as the default address on Habitia-generated documents.
4. Write your public business description
The Public business description field is what shows on your public landing page at home.thehabitia.app/m/<your-slug>. Stripe also uses this URL as your business website during their onboarding check, so it has to look like a real business.
Keep it short — one or two sentences. Example:
Family-owned property management serving the south coast since 2018. Long-term rentals, responsive maintenance, fair pricing.
Tip: Don’t list specific units or prices in the description — those live on the listings page and update automatically. Focus on who you are and what makes you different.
5. Internal notes
The Notes field at the bottom is for whatever you want to remember about the business — never shown to tenants, never on your public page. Optional.
6. Save
Click Save Changes. The button only appears when you’ve actually edited a field.
What’s read-only
Below the form, the Account Info card shows four read-only values:
- Created — when your organization was set up in Habitia.
- Last Updated — when the profile was last edited.
- Slug — the URL-safe name used in your public links (e.g.,
acme-rentals). This drives your public page URL and Stripe’s reference to your business — it can’t be changed. - Org ID — internal identifier. Useful if support asks for it.
What’s next
- Documents — uploading licenses, certificates, or photos that belong to the org itself (not a specific property).
- Subscription — managing your Habitia plan and billing.
